Pricing & booking

How much does a handyman cost in Miami?

It depends on the job, and anyone who quotes a number before hearing it is guessing. Double Handyman prices flat-rate: you describe the work, send a photo if it helps, and we give you one upfront price before anything is booked. That price covers the job, not the hours — a stubborn anchor or a second trip to the truck does not change it. Bundling several small tasks into one visit is the best value.

Do you charge by the hour or a flat rate?

Flat rate, always. You approve a number before the visit and that is what you pay. There is no clock running, no minimum hours and no add-ons at the door.

Is there a minimum job size?

No job is too small. One shelf, one sticky door, one running toilet — all get a yes. If you have several small things, putting them in one visit costs less than booking them separately.

How do I book?

Call or text (305) 813-9013, use the chat on this site, or send the quote form. Tell us what needs doing and where. We reply with a flat price and the soonest window, you confirm, done.

How do I pay?

After the work is done and you are happy with it. We accept Venmo and Zelle; see the How to Pay page for details.

Licensing & insurance

Does a handyman need a license in Florida?

Not for minor repairs. Florida does not require a state contractor licence for handyman work such as mounting, assembly, drywall patching, caulking, door adjustment and swapping like-for-like fixtures. Electrical, plumbing, HVAC, roofing and structural work must be done by licensed contractors. Double Handyman sticks to the minor-repair side of that line and tells you plainly when a job belongs with a licensed trade.

Are you insured?

Yes. Double Handyman carries insurance so your home and our pros are protected before work begins, and we can send a certificate of insurance to your building's management office when it is required.

Are your handymen background-checked?

Yes. Every pro who enters your home is background-checked and carries ID. You will know who is coming before they arrive.

Do you guarantee the work?

Yes. If something is not right, one text brings us back to make it right. Workmanship is warrantied; there is no fight and no fee for a callback.

What we do and don't do

What can a handyman legally do in Florida?

Minor repairs and installations that do not require a trade licence: mounting and hanging, furniture assembly, drywall patching, caulking and trim, door and lock hardware, replacing like-for-like light fixtures, fans, faucets, toilet parts and disposals on existing connections, and general small carpentry. New electrical circuits, repiping, HVAC, roofing, structural changes and anything that needs a permit must be done by a licensed contractor.

Do you do electrical work?

Minor only: swapping a light fixture, ceiling fan, switch or dimmer like-for-like on an existing box and circuit, and installing smart thermostats on existing wiring. New circuits, new boxes, panel work or anything beyond a direct swap is for a licensed electrician, and we tell you when a job crosses that line.

Do you do plumbing?

Minor only: faucets, showerheads, toilet fill valves, flappers and seats, garbage disposal swaps and slow sink drains on existing connections. In-wall or slab leaks, water heaters, repiping, drain relocation and main lines need a licensed plumber.

Do you bring materials?

Either way works. Install what you have already bought, or we pick up what the job needs and pass it through at cost with the receipt. Standard fasteners, anchors and consumables are on the truck.

Do you clean up?

Always. Dust, debris and packaging leave with us. Floors and furniture are protected while we work.

Scheduling & service area

How fast can you come out?

Most jobs are booked within the same week and next-day slots open often. Standard arrival windows run Monday to Saturday, 8 AM to 6 PM. Evenings and Sundays are possible when the team confirms the slot.

Where do you work?

Our core is Miami-Dade and South Broward — Sunny Isles Beach, Aventura, Bal Harbour, Surfside, Miami Beach, North Miami, North Miami Beach, Brickell, Hialeah, Doral, Kendall, Hallandale Beach, Hollywood, Pembroke Pines and Fort Lauderdale. Visits farther out, up to roughly 150 miles, are possible once the team confirms.

Do you work in condos and high-rises with building rules?

Yes, and most of our work is in them. We carry insurance and can send a certificate of insurance to your management office, we work inside the building's permitted hours, use the service elevator when the building requires it, and protect common hallways on the way in and out.

Can you work while I am away or for a family member?

Yes. We coordinate access with a concierge, management office or trusted contact, confirm the flat price with you in advance and send photos when the work is done. Setting up a parent's condo from out of state is something we do regularly.
