Appliance Installation in Miami

Double Handyman installs appliances on existing hookups across Miami-Dade and South Broward — over-the-range microwaves, range hoods replaced like-for-like on the existing connection and duct, dishwashers on the existing supply, drain and power, washers and electric dryers on existing outlets and vents, and fridge ice-maker lines to an existing valve. Flat-rate price before booking, same-week in most cases. Gas lines and gas appliances, new circuits and new plumbing belong with licensed contractors.

Why appliance installs get stuck in Miami

The appliance is delivered, the old one is still in place, and the delivery crew will not install it — or will, but not the over-the-range microwave that has to be bolted through a cabinet and into a block wall. In Miami condos, kitchens are small, cabinets are custom or older than the new appliance, and the walls behind them are concrete. Getting a microwave level and secure, or a range hood lined up with the existing duct, is a careful hour of measuring and drilling, not a plug-in job.

Dishwashers and washers add water. A compression fitting that is not quite right drips slowly into the cabinet base or the floor below, and in a condo that means the neighbour downstairs finds it first. We connect, pressure-test and run a cycle before we call it done.

What we install

  • Over-the-range microwaves, mounted to the wall and cabinet
  • Range hoods replaced like-for-like on the existing connection and duct
  • Dishwashers on the existing supply valve, drain and power
  • Washers on existing valves and drain, with new hoses
  • Electric dryers on the existing outlet and vent, cord and vent hose fitted
  • Fridge ice-maker and water-dispenser lines to an existing valve

Typical appliance jobs in Miami condos and homes

In the high-rises of Sunny Isles, Brickell and Hallandale, it is usually an over-the-range microwave swap or a dishwasher that the delivery company left in the box, plus a stacked washer and dryer in a laundry closet with tight clearances. In houses in Kendall, Hollywood and Pembroke Pines, it is the full kitchen package after a remodel — microwave, hood and dishwasher — or a new washer and dryer in the garage. Landlords call when a unit's dishwasher dies between tenants and they need a like-for-like swap fast.

How it works

Send the model numbers of the new appliance and a photo of the space and existing hookups — the outlet, the valve under the sink, the vent or duct. We check fit and connections from the photos and quote a flat price. On the day we disconnect and remove the old unit, install the new one, connect it to the existing supply, drain, outlet or duct, level and secure it, test for leaks and run it with you. We move the old appliance out of the way; haul-away is something we help you arrange rather than do ourselves.

Where the line is

Hooking up an appliance to existing outlets, valves, drains and ducts is handyman work. Anything gas — a gas range, gas dryer or gas line — belongs with a licensed gas contractor. A new circuit, a new outlet or a hard-wired connection where none exists needs a licensed electrician, and new supply or drain lines need a licensed plumber. If we open the cabinet and find a valve that will not close or a duct that does not line up, we stop and tell you.

Your Questions, Answered

How much does appliance installation cost in Miami?

We price flat-rate, not by the hour. Tell us the job — a photo or two helps — and we give you one upfront number before anything is scheduled. The price moves with the appliance type (an over-the-range microwave takes longer than a washer), whether the old unit has to come out first, cabinet fit and whether new hoses, cords or vent pieces are needed. Whatever we quote is what you pay; there is no clock running and no add-ons at the door.

Can a handyman install a dishwasher in Florida?

Yes, as a like-for-like swap on the existing water supply, drain and power. Adding a new supply line, a new drain or a new circuit for a dishwasher where there was none is licensed plumbing or electrical work, and we refer it.

Can you install an over-the-range microwave?

Yes. We mount the wall plate into the studs or block behind the cabinet, bolt the top through the upper cabinet, plug it into the existing outlet in the cabinet and connect the vent the way your kitchen is set up — recirculating or to the existing duct.

Do you install gas appliances?

No. Gas ranges, gas dryers and gas lines must be connected by a licensed gas contractor in Florida. We install electric and plug-in appliances on existing outlets and will tell you plainly if your appliance needs a gas pro.

Will you take away my old appliance?

We disconnect it and move it out of the way so the new one can go in. We are not a hauling company, so removal is something we help you arrange — many retailers take the old unit when they deliver the new one if you ask at checkout.

Do you work in condos and high-rises with building rules?

Yes, and most of our work is in them. We carry insurance and can send a certificate of insurance to your management office, we work inside the building's permitted hours, use the service elevator when the building requires it, and protect common hallways on the way in and out.
