Drywall Repair in Miami
Double Handyman repairs drywall across Miami-Dade and South Broward — small holes from TV mounts and shelves, doorknob and fist-sized holes, cracks at corners and seams, and stained or soft patches from past leaks — patched, taped, mudded, sanded and textured so the repair disappears under paint. Flat-rate price before booking, same-week slots in most cases.
Why drywall repair matters more at move-out and move-in
Most of our drywall calls in Miami come from one of three moments: a rental move-out where the deposit depends on walls that look untouched, a condo move-in where the previous owner's TV and shelf anchors left a constellation of holes, or a repair after a water event where the leak has been fixed but the ceiling still shows it.
A good patch is invisible. That means matching the thickness of the board, feathering the compound wide enough that there is no bump, and matching the texture — Miami homes range from smooth to orange-peel to knockdown, and a smooth patch on a textured wall is the giveaway everyone notices.
What we repair
- Nail, screw and anchor holes from mounts, shelves and curtain rods
- Doorknob, furniture and fist-sized holes with backing board
- Hairline cracks at seams, corners and above doors
- Water-stained or soft sections, cut out and replaced once the leak is fixed
- Popped nails and loose tape
- Texture matching: smooth, orange-peel and knockdown
How it works
Photos of the damage with something for scale let us quote a flat price. Small patches are often finished in one visit; larger patches take two because joint compound needs to dry between coats. We leave the repair sanded and primed so it is ready for paint, and we can apply the finish coat if you have the matching paint.

Your Questions, Answered
How much does drywall repair cost in Miami?
We price flat-rate, not by the hour. Tell us the job — a photo or two helps — and we give you one upfront number before anything is scheduled. The price moves with the number and size of the holes, whether a backing patch or new board is needed, the texture to match and how many visits the drying time requires. Whatever we quote is what you pay; there is no clock running and no add-ons at the door.
Can you repair drywall in one visit?
Small holes and anchor damage, usually yes. Anything that needs a proper patch and several coats of compound needs drying time between coats, so it is normally two shorter visits. We tell you which it is when we quote.
Will the patch be visible after painting?
Not if the texture is matched and the compound is feathered wide enough. That is the whole job. We prime the patch so the paint sheen matches the rest of the wall rather than flashing.
Do you fix water-damaged drywall?
Yes, once the source of the leak is fixed. We cut out the soft or stained section, check behind it, and replace it with new board, tape and compound. If the leak itself is plumbing, roofing or a neighbour's unit, that needs to be resolved by the right trade first.
Does a handyman need a license in Florida?
Not for minor repairs. Florida does not require a state contractor licence for handyman work such as mounting, assembly, drywall patching, caulking, door adjustment and swapping like-for-like fixtures. Electrical, plumbing, HVAC, roofing and structural work must be done by licensed contractors. Double Handyman sticks to the minor-repair side of that line and tells you plainly when a job belongs with a licensed trade.
