Smart Home Installation in Miami
Double Handyman installs and sets up smart home devices across Miami-Dade and South Broward — smart thermostats on existing wiring, video doorbells, Wi-Fi cameras, mesh Wi-Fi systems, smart plugs, switches and hubs — mounted properly, connected to your network and configured on your phone. Flat-rate price before booking, same-week in most cases.
Why smart home set-up is a handyman job, not a gadget job
The devices are easy to buy and surprisingly hard to finish. A video doorbell needs to be mounted at the right height and angle on stucco or block, powered from the existing chime wiring and set up on Wi-Fi that actually reaches the front door. A smart thermostat needs a common wire your old thermostat may not have used. A camera on a balcony needs to survive Miami rain.
We do the mounting, drilling and wiring that the apps skip over, then finish the software side so you leave with everything working on your phone, not a pile of half-paired boxes.
What we set up
- Smart thermostats (Nest, Ecobee, Honeywell) on existing low-voltage wiring
- Video doorbells, wired or battery, on stucco, block or wood
- Indoor and outdoor Wi-Fi cameras and floodlight cameras
- Mesh Wi-Fi systems and access points placed for real coverage
- Smart plugs, switches, bulbs, hubs and voice assistants
- TV, soundbar and streaming-box set-up with hidden cables
How it works
Tell us what you bought or want to buy and send photos of where it goes. We quote a flat price for the set. On the day we mount, wire and connect each device, test it from outside the house or from your phone, and walk you through the app. If a device needs new electrical wiring — a floodlight camera where there is no fixture, a thermostat with no compatible wiring — that part is for a licensed electrician and we tell you up front.
What You Get
- Flat-rate price before booking
- Mounting on stucco, block or drywall
- Wi-Fi connection and app set-up
- Walk-through before we leave
- Insured, background-checked pro
- Packaging removed
Your Questions, Answered
How much does smart home installation cost in Miami?
We price flat-rate, not by the hour. Tell us the job — a photo or two helps — and we give you one upfront number before anything is scheduled. The price moves with how many devices, what each one mounts to, whether wiring already exists at the location and how much network configuration is involved. Whatever we quote is what you pay; there is no clock running and no add-ons at the door.
Can you install a smart thermostat in my condo?
If your current thermostat has compatible low-voltage wiring, yes — we swap it, label the wires and set it up on your phone. Some older systems lack a common wire or use a line-voltage thermostat; we will tell you if yours does, and that case needs an HVAC or electrical pro.
Will my video doorbell work with the building's intercom?
In most condos the unit door has no chime wiring, so a battery doorbell or one powered from a plug-in transformer is the usual answer. If your building controls the hallway, check its rules on cameras facing common areas before we mount anything.
Can you fix Wi-Fi dead zones?
Yes. Concrete walls in Miami buildings kill Wi-Fi. We place a mesh system or extra access points where they actually help, run a cable where it is practical and test the signal at the spots that matter — the balcony, the back bedroom, the front door.
Do you work in condos and high-rises with building rules?
Yes, and most of our work is in them. We carry insurance and can send a certificate of insurance to your management office, we work inside the building's permitted hours, use the service elevator when the building requires it, and protect common hallways on the way in and out.
