Ceiling Fan Installation in Miami
Double Handyman installs and replaces ceiling fans across Miami-Dade and South Broward on existing, fan-rated ceiling boxes — removing the old fan or light, hanging and wiring the new fan to the existing circuit, balancing the blades and pairing the remote. You get a flat-rate price before booking and a same-week slot in most cases. New circuits and new boxes are referred to a licensed electrician.
Why fans are a year-round job in Miami
A ceiling fan in Miami is not decoration. It lets you set the thermostat a few degrees higher and still feel comfortable, which matters when the AC runs ten months a year. Outdoor and covered-patio fans take a beating from salt air and humidity, so swapping a corroded or wobbling fan is one of the most common things we are asked to do in the beach cities.
The job is straightforward when the ceiling already has a fan-rated box and a working switch. We check that before we hang anything, because a standard light box is not rated for the weight and movement of a fan.
What we handle
- Replacing an existing ceiling fan with a new one
- Swapping a ceiling light for a fan where the box is fan-rated
- Indoor, outdoor-rated and large-diameter fans on standard and sloped ceilings
- Downrod sizing for high ceilings
- Blade balancing, wobble fix and remote or wall-control pairing
- Light-kit installation and bulb selection
How it works
Send a photo of the current fixture and ceiling height. We quote a flat price per fan. On the day we turn the circuit off, take the old fan down, confirm the box is fan-rated and secure, hang and wire the new fan, add the right downrod, balance and test. If we find a box that is not rated or wiring that needs more than a like-for-like connection, we stop and tell you — that part belongs with a licensed electrician.

Your Questions, Answered
How much does ceiling fan installation cost in Miami?
We price flat-rate, not by the hour. Tell us the job — a photo or two helps — and we give you one upfront number before anything is scheduled. The price moves with ceiling height, whether an old fixture comes down first, the fan's size and weight, and whether it is a straight swap or needs a downrod and sloped-ceiling adapter. Whatever we quote is what you pay; there is no clock running and no add-ons at the door.
Do I need an electrician to install a ceiling fan in Florida?
For replacing a fan or light on an existing fan-rated box and circuit, a handyman can do it. Running a new circuit, adding a new ceiling box, or changing the switch wiring beyond like-for-like is licensed electrical work in Florida, and we will tell you if your job crosses that line.
Can you install a fan where there is only a light?
If the existing box is fan-rated and securely attached to framing or a brace, yes. Many are not. We check it before hanging anything; if a new brace or box is needed, that is an electrician's job and we will say so.
Why does my ceiling fan wobble?
Usually a blade that is slightly out of balance, loose blade screws, or a fan hung on a box that is not tight to the ceiling. We balance blades with a kit, tighten everything and check the mount. If the box itself moves, it needs to be fixed first.
Do you work in condos and high-rises with building rules?
Yes, and most of our work is in them. We carry insurance and can send a certificate of insurance to your management office, we work inside the building's permitted hours, use the service elevator when the building requires it, and protect common hallways on the way in and out.
